Order Picker Categories
Did you know that there are more than one type of Order Picker?
The Accredited Bodies Association (ABA) has identified 4 categories of Order Picker used in the UK.
They are Category A1, A2, E1 and E2.
Each category of Order Picker has a different purpose in the workplace and they each require a separate operator certificate.
You will need to receive formal training from a forklift instructor before using each category of Order Picker truck.
It is therefore important that you identify the correct category of Order Picker that best suits your employment or business requirements and then book the right Order Picker training course for your needs.

Based on your experience of using an Order Picker truck, we deliver 4 levels of training courses: –
Novice Courses – Experienced Operator Courses – Refresher Courses – Conversion Courses.

A1 Pedestrian Order Picker
These are pedestrian operated low lift platform & low lift order-picking trucks with a lift capacity up to 2500kg. Electric powered.
A2 Rider Order Picker
These are rider operated low lift platform & low lift order-picking trucks with a lift capacity up to 2500kg. Electric powered.
E1 Man Down Order Picker
These are pedestrian operated. Medium level order picking trucks up to and including 3m. Electric powered.
E2 Man Up Order Picker
These are rider operated. High level order picking trucks over 3m. Electric powered.

This depends on the course ratio and your experience level. Novices can take 3 to 5 days. Refreshers are just one day. Experienced operators can take 2 to 3 days. Conversion can be 1 to 2 days.
